Thank you for visiting our page and getting to know me, Chef Bob!
A little about me:
I am certified Chef with over 35 years of experience in the culinary industry. I realized early in my career that the best way to expand my knowledge and gain experience was to travel the world. The countries I visited gave me an opportunity to learn about food, culture and so much more.
My travels took me to Rotterdam, Netherlands where I lived from 1991 to 1993, learning as much as I could about the culinary field.
In 1993 I took on Tel-Aviv, Israel where I ran a Yacht Club restaurant, one of the most well renowned fine dining restaurants in the world. This is where I was nominated as one of the 10 Best Chef’s in the Middle East area by the Jerusalem Post.
My next career move proved to be a great one, moving to Canada in 1998 where the doors for opportunity opened!
I started at the Executive Hotel as a Sous-Chef and in six months was promoted to the Executive Chef position for the same hotel chain in the Down Town Vancouver location.
In 2003, I became a member of the Canadian Culinary Association and that same year was offered a position with the (D.N.C.) which ran one of the largest resorts in Western Canada—Harrison Hot Springs. Starting as a an Executive Sous-Chef until the beginning of 2005, at which time I moved the position of Executive Chef.
Life took me many places, and eventually led me to accepting a position in 2007 at the Executive Hotel chains yet again. There I spent over 13 years growing, learning and managing multiple restaurant chains.
In 2013 I took the opportunity to again expand my education and knowledge in any way I could by completing the Certified Chef de Cuisine Program at Vancouver Community College (VCC). I truly believe you should never stop learning and growing your craft.
After many years I felt it was time to start and pursue my passion for food for myself. In 2020 I decided to start Chef Vancouver Catering in partnership with MV Decor, to make any wedding or event, outstanding and affordable for all clients.
